Workshop on Gender and Disability Inclusive Organizational Strategic Planning

Turning Point Foundation organized a Workshop on Gender and Disability Inclusive Organizational Strategic Planning on 20-22 March 2018 with the representatives from 20 grassroots DPOs across Bangladesh. The project is supported by Commonwealth Foundation. The persons with disabilities have learned the process, steps and techniques of developing an organizational strategic planning. They developed four draft strategic plans through group works and reviewed in the large group. Now they are capable to facilitate their respective grassroots DPOs to develop strategic plans for their respective and other grassroots DPOs and CBOs.

Workshop on Review National Plan of Action of Adolescents Health Strategy 2017-2030 Focusing on SRHR

Turning Point Foundation organized a workshop on 12-14 November 2017 to review National Plan of Action of Adolescents Health Strategy 2017-2030 Focusing on SRHR of Adolescents with Disabilities. A total of 20 adolescents with disabilities including physical, hearing and intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy and Deaf from 10 DPOs participated the workshop.The workshop included basic concept of sex, gender, puberty, SRHR, disability, situation of SRHR of adolescents with disabilities. The participants have reviewed National Adolescents Health Strategy 2017-2030, Draft National Plan of Action of Bangladesh Government and compile adolescents recommendations. Mr. Manjur Ahmed, Focal person of National Plan of Action for adolescents of Directorate general of Family Planning facilitate a session including guideline for compiling recommendations.

Training on SRHR of Adolescents with Disabilities and Marginalized Groups

Turning Point Foundation organized a training on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) of Adolescents with Disabilities and Marginalized Groups on 07-09 November 2017. A total of 20 adolescents diversified in terms of gender, disability, geographic area, socio-economic class, marginalized groups participated the training; among them 13 girls, 07 boys, 18 adolescents with disabilities, two were from ethnic minorities such as Dalits and Indigenous. Participants also came from grassroots DPOs from different districts of Bangladesh. The training focused on adolescent SRHR, Sex, Gender, Disability, Puberty, Situation of adolescents with disabilities and different marginalized regarding SRHR. They also learned about the National Adolescents Health Strategy 2017-2030 and National Plan of Action.
