Training on Financial Management

Turning Point Foundation organized a training on Financial Management on 20-22 May 2017 with support from the Commonwealth Foundation. The participants were total 22 from 20 grassroots DPOs from across the country. Participation was diversified in terms of disability, gender, ethnicity and age. Among these participants, 11 were women and 11 were male participants. The total 17 participants with disabilities included physical disabilities, visual impairment, cerebral palsy and deaf and 5 were non-disabled participants. The Objectives of the training was to enable the participants– i) To explain the importance and effectiveness of financial management to sustainable organisational development; ii) To highlight financial management procedure and practices through organizational budget, importance of General Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP), and Govt. VAT & Tax law.

Training on Gender Inclusive Sustainable Organizational Development

Turning Point Foundation organized a training on Gender Inclusive Sustainable Organisational Development on 7-9 May 2017 with support from the Commonwealth Foundation. The participants were total 23 from 20 grassroots DPOs. The Objectives of the training included to enable the participants – i) To explain issues related to gender inclusive and sustainable organisational development; ii) To highlight importance of policies and procedures on organisational, programmatic, administration, financial, human resource and project management; iii) To identify accountable, transparent, gender inclusive and sustainable procedures in administration and financial management; iv) To uphold organisational values and principles to ensure equal participation of men and women as well as sustainable organisational development. The training objectives were interlinked and adapted in line with participants expectations.

Orientation on SDGs

Orientation on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Turning Point Foundation organized an orientation on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the role of the grassroots people and their organizations on 06 May 2017. A total of 23 participants (including 12 women) from 21 DPOs from eight Divisions of Bangladesh attended the orientation. Bangladesh is one of the most successful countries in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In the process of transition from MDGs to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Bangladesh has been a part of the process from the beginning and contributed in developing the SDGs with Bangladesh proposal to the United Nations containing 11 goals, 58 targets and 241 indicators. Persons with disabilities and the DPOs should have active participation and contributions towards achieving the SDGs.
